Havasupai

Over the next few weeks I will be posting photos from some of my travels over the last 8 or so years. I have finally taken some time and gone through all of my old trips and picked out the goodies. There may be some repeats from previous posts. This first one is from my backpacking trip to Havasupai Indian Reservation in Northern Arizona in the summer of 2007. I highly recommend the 20 mile round trip hike.

 

Big News!!

The website is up and running. I still need to make a few improvements to the individual photo information, and I will be updating the galleries to be slightly bigger. I want my website to feature the best of the best. I have one other very important announcement, that has occupied a bit of my time the last couple of months. I'm engaged to the most stellar young lady in the world. Jennifer Lynne Price and myself will be married on September 30, 2011 in the Salt Lake Temple. The Newness!

Well folks, after some hard work and persistence, the new website is finally up and running. Nick Hansen my good friend designed and built the website, and is the major reason this dream is being fulfilled. Thank you Nick. My site still needs some updating, but Nick made it fool proof and easy for me to do the updating so this will force me to be better at updating both my blog and my website. The blog will still contain the bulk of the work, and the site will contain the best of the best. Stowaway Magazine Spring 2011

I have my first magazine publication, and I didn't even submit my photo. Back in 2008 I traveled with a group of 6 students from Utah State University to Rwanda for a month. I took literally thousands of photographs, some of which you have seen on this blog. It was right after I had bought my new Canon 40D. Last year, 2010, Allison submitted some of her photo's to a photo contest in Stowaway Magazine. They contacted her informing her that her photo had won first place for their Spring Issue, being the honest lady that she is, she noticed it was actually a photo that I had taken during our trip. She let me know that I had won the first place photo contest and they need the information for the photographer and the photo. Thank you Allison for helping me get my first magazine publication without even knowing I had submitted! Interestingly enough, one of Allison's photo's is in the issue as well, under the letter from the editor.

Zion's and Update

Here is a shot from my recent trip to Zion's National Park in Southern Utah. Also, you may have noticed the change to the color scheme and logo. My new website is done and will be up by next week. My good friend Nick Hansen designed the site and the logo. I'll let you know the moment is up and running! Very exciting to finally have a real site and somewhere to display the best of the best of my shots.

I shot this picture in the Summer of 2007 on a backpacking trip to Havasupai. I have heard that the waterfalls have changed quite in a bit in the past few years due to flooding. Guess I need to go back for some new pictures.
